Propose Amendment of the Civil Aviation Law

Hanoi, July 2006 - The National Assembly passed the amended Civil Aviation Law on July 12, 2006. The new law has been amended to create a “level playing field” and more transparent business environment for domestic and international airlines. On May 21, 2006, Bao & Partners proposed a number of amendments to the Civil Aviation Law to the National Assembly. The amendments included: (i) restructure the ground service enterprises, (ii) prohibition of unfair competition, and (iii) elimination of monopoly in providing ground technical services for airlines. All of the proposed amendments have been discussed, passed, and incorporated into the new law by the National Assembly.
